Methodist Charlton’s primary service area encompasses communities that have been identified as consistently experiencing the highest rates of breast cancer in the Dallas area. The Dr. Stephen and Marilyn Mansfield Oncology Unit at Methodist Charlton was created to address this disparity. Catering to the community’s need, Certus was engaged to partner with Methodist Health System, Guide Architecture, Skiles Group, Polk Mechanical, and Prism Electric to bring much-needed oncology services to the area. The scope of the project consisted of renovating a wing of the fifth floor into a 12-bed oncology nursing unit. The oncology unit opened its doors to the community in the spring of 2021.
